Bell Bakers Limited is proud to sponsor two Lanarkshire sports teams - Shotts Bon Accord Football Club and Biggar Rugby Football Club.

Shotts Bon Accord are an established Juniors team who began their winning ways in 1952 by lifting the Lanarkshire League Cup.  After a triumphant 2004-2005 season, they gained promotion from the Stagecoach Super League First Division into the prestigious Premier Division.

Biggar Rugby Club was established in 1975; but despite being a relatively new team, they enjoyed their debut at the dizzy heights of SRU Premier League 1 during the 2004-2005 season, and have now settled back into Premier League 2. 

Bell Bakers would like to wish both Biggar Rugby Club and Shotts Bon Accord every success throughout the current season.

Bell Bakers is committed to promoting and proactively supporting healthy living.  Of course, we are aware that a “diet Bells pie” will never exist, but we have taken important steps to reduce the fat and salt content in our best selling range of Steak Pies, with no compromise in flavour and quality. 

The launch of ths healthier Steak Pie is only the first step in a major development programme that will see a review of the fat and salt content of the entire Bells range. This, combined with our sponsorship of two sucessful sports teams demonstrates our recognition of the changes in today's cosumer attitudes and promotes healthier eating and physical activity.

In addition to supporting sports teams, Bell Bakers Limited also support the local community by sponsoring the Annual Shotts Highland Games.

Highland Games have their origin in the Scottish clan system and date back over 300 years. Historically, the clan chief would encourage his men to participate in feats of strength, skill and endurance to prove themselves skilled in battle.

Today, however, Highland Games are an opportunity to boost community spirit and enjoy a fun summers day.  Shotts Highland Games showcase a variety of talents.  Competitions include the Pipe Band Championship, the Highland Dance Championship, Athletics events and the "Heavy Events".  The Heavy Events harp back to original Highland Games from centuries past and include events such as tossing the caber.
