Bells attract 83,000 new pastry customers

Date: 8th April 2008

Bells' famous puff pastry has attracted 83,373 new customers in the last 2 years, according to the latest TNS data. Their popular pastry has been a firm favourite since it's invention in 1931 by Donald Bell.

Bells continue to grow in performance against its nearest competitors and are performing ahead of the UK market. They have also shown the greatest growth in the Block Pastry market in Scotland.

They enjoy a 52% loyalty within the Bells brand, particularly in Scotland, which is of no surprise to James Stuart, Sales and Marketing Director at Bells. He says "We are very fortunate at Bells to have enjoyed such loyalty from our customers for so many years. Our pastry is unique in the UK as it's made from the Scotch method and our customers clearly enjoy it. Recent investment in a stae-of-the-art Pastry Laminator has proved a huge success and proves Bells are continually growing and investing in the future. In todays world where consumers are driving for better, healthier foods and preparing all their meals from scratch, we're delighted to offer them a product which is both good value for money and better for you than some of the ready meal options on the shelves today. This product has been around for more than 75 years, and it's wonderful to see modern families returning to good food made at home."
